● You have 5 minutes to prepare for the presentation.
● In preparing for the presentation, consider the content, organization and the manner of
delivery (what to say, and how to say it such as in what sequence, how to connect, how to emphasize, etc. )
● Your presentation should last about 4 minutes.

Make a presentation on how English serves the purposes of science.
In Unit 6 you were exposed to changing English since the Second World War. After the
Second World War, science and the application of science developed very rapidly, and they
could not have done so withoul symbolic systems. They needed an international language.
The following ideas should be included in your talk:
1)why science and technology' need an international language;
2)why English is used as an international language in science, and
